The hallmark of any great player is their ability to find time and space when in possession and Bobby Moore instinctively knew how to do that.
Everybody knows about what he achieved in 1966, when he captained England to World Cup glory at Wembley. But I think he may have peaked performance-wise in the Mexico World Cup four years later.
The way he timed his tackles was unbelievable, particularly in the match against Brazil and yet he still managed to make everything look effortless.

Nobody knew at the time, but Bobby Moore's World Cup winning performance of 1966 came just two years after he fought and won a battle against cancer. Moore kept this secret and it only emerged after he died of the disease in 1993.
